The Top 10 Must-Know Clash of Clans

Tip #1. Save Your Gems

When you start playing Clash off Clans, and  the game give you 500 gems at the beginning in the game. By the end of the tutorial, you end up losing nearly 50 gems by completing structures instantly as instructed by the tutorial. If you instead save your gems, you will be able to add extra builders at a quicker rate.

Here are the costs for each builder:

• Builder 2: 250 gems (you add this during the tutorial)
• Builder 3: 500 gems
• Builder 4: 1000 gems
• Builder 5: 2000 gems

While builders 4 and 5 are a long ways off, builder 3 is achievable relatively quickly if you save your gems. Extra builders allow you to construct more buildings at once and as a result are very helpful. With the new Clan War achievements and a trophy push, you can unlock the 4th builder within a few months of playing even without purchasing anything. The 5th builder will require a major Trophy push to Champion’s League or more time to unlock some of the other achievements.

Tips #2. Get Free Gems

Like almost free games which always involve leveling up there is a premium in game currency which can be purchased with real money, and also earned slowly within the game.

The Game Progress can be slow without gems and the game tries to encourage you to buy gems, as it is a free game and this is the only way the developers will make money from the game.
The Progress game can be slow without gems, especially by the time that upgrades take days to complete, you have already invested a lot of time in the game when you realize you need to spend money or progress  slowly. You start the game with 500 gems and you should try to save as many as possible for later in the game.
Builders Huts are the most useful item that can only be purchased with Gems and buying an additional builders hut is a smart way to spend gems if you want to progress quickly.
Spend your gems sparingly especially if you’re in the early stages of the game as you will need them more later, if you can wait for something to finish upgrading or try to raid instead of buying more gold/elixir. If you don’t want to buy gems then patience is key, the game requires so much time an upgrading that you just want to upgrade constantly and as quickly as possible but it is much better wait and enjoy the game or before you know it you can spend a lot of money on the game.To cut just one day off building time will cost you 260 gems, and buying resources is generally not worth it in most cases. Gardening 

Clean up your village and get rid of trees and bushes can earn you gems. You get between 0 – 6 gems each time.
Gem Box

You will need to spend 1000 Elixir and 30 seconds to remove it. After removing the Gem Box, you will receive 25 Gems. That’s why every player want to see it everyday!

You can just have a Gem Box at a time. Although it is very rare but normally you can see it every 1-2 weeks. So whenever you see it on your ground, remove it as soon as possible so the next one can be out sooner and always make sure that it has enough space on your land to respawn.
25 Gems is not a big number but a long with removing obstacles in game (trees, trunks, mushrooms,…), you can earn up to hundreds every week. After a few months, you can finish the 5th builder, one of the main goal of all players in game.

And the last one, the enemy attacker can’t steal it from you! Sometimes I even see players using Lightning Spells to zap it.  (supercell fix this glitch)

Achievements

The main ways to gain gems are from completing achievements which you can see by clicking on the icon of this lady:

The most lucrative achievement which everyone should aim for is this one:

Sweet Victory!

Achieve a total of 75 trophies in Multiplayer battles: 10  / 5 

Achieve a total of 750 trophies in Multiplayer battles: 100  / 10 

Achieve a total of 1,250 trophies in Multiplayer battles: 1,000  / 450 

it is worth 450 gems and gaining trophies isn’t too hard when you get good attack and defence systems going. The method I used for this was a good defence, plant bombs where the attack is coming from and re-arm them, make sure your clan castle is always full as matchmaking is based on your trophy count. If you’re at a lower level than most people with your trophy count it won’t take long for you to be attacked, let them attack you while you have as many bombs and traps planted as possible and a full clan castle, then as soon as you have been attacked request troops and re-arm bombs and traps, this worked for me and I got the achievement at quite a low level. Look through the achievements and see which ones are achievable for you.

The new clan wars achievements offer some good rewards so join a good, active and generous clan.

War Hero

Score 10 stars for your clan in War Battles: 50  / 50 

Score 150 stars for your clan in War Battles: 500  / 200 

Score 1,000 stars for your clan in War Battles: 1,000  / 1,000 

Spoils of War

Collect 800,000 Gold in Clan War bonuses: 100  / 25 

Collect 15,000,000 Gold in Clan War bonuses: 500  / 100 

Collect 80,000,000 Gold in Clan War bonuses: 5,000  / 1,000 

There are 66 Achievements worth a total of 9,432 Gems! so go Achieve!

Tip #3. Use Cheap Units

One of the biggest mistakes for a new players make is not considering the cost of the units they use to battle. While Giants are great, but they also cost a lot more to use than Barbarians. At higher levels, Dragons are great, but they cost a lot more to use than Giants. There is also the time factor to consider. While Wizards are stronger than Archers, they not only cost more to make, but each Wizard requires 8 minutes. Meanwhile, you could create 4 Archers in less than two minutes.

As a result, when your primary goal is to save up resources, you need to make an effort to use cheap units that are quick to produce. The best units to make depends on your Town Hall level

Tip #4. Only Use Spells When Necessary

Just like units, spells are super expensive and take awhile to produce. While they can be very effective, you need to make sure that the battle you are fighting warrants the use of such a spell. You should know that the Rage Spell starts at 23,000 elixir and the Healing spell starts at 15,000 elixir; each time you use these spells, you need to be sure that using the spell will allow you to earn at least an additional 15k or 23k resources

Tip 5. Slowly Upgrade Your Town Hall

The Town Hall “loot penalty” is one of the most important things to know about in Clash of Clans, yet it is not a publicly advertised feature in the game. It is not even mentioned during the tutorial or anywhere in the game, yet it is extremely important to how the game plays out.

This penalty reduces the amount of loot you can get from enemies if your Town Hall is a higher level than your opponent’s Town Hall. If your Town Hall is one level higher than your enemy’s, you will only be able to steal 90% of the normal amount available for loot. If your Town Hall is two levels higher, you will only be able to steal 50% of the loot. For three levels, only 25%, and for 4 levels or more, only 5% of the total available loot. The penalty is reflected in “Loot Available” – you do not have to do any calculations on your own.

As a result, we recommend getting up to Town Hall level 4 and then sitting in this range while you max out your defensive structures, your army camps, and your research. You can even max out your walls for extra credit before moving on to Town Hall 5. Repeat this process for every level.

Tip #6. Start Matchmaking Early

When you first start playing Clash of Clans, you get a three-day shield. However, thanks to the previously-mentioned Loot Penalty, very few players will want to attack you even if you drop your shield. As a result, you can start matchmaking right away when you need resources with no fear of reprisal. You can skip around and look for a base with exposed resource collectors and use a handful of Barbarians, Goblins, or Archers to attack them.

Even if you do get attacked, low-level Town Hall players have very little to lose. You will only lose a tiny bit of resources that can be more than made up for with a single attack.

Tip #7. Use the “Next” Feature Frequently

When farming either resources or trophies, you should always be skipping around with the “next” button in order to find the perfect base to attack. It only costs a tiny bit of gold to jump to the next base, so make sure you have a good base before you spend all your units attacking one. Also, be careful never to spend every last bit of gold you have on an upgrade – you need to save some gold in order to be able to
use the “next” ability to continue farming!

 

Tip #8. Put the Clan Castle in the Center of Your Base

To be part of a Clan is in the core of Clash of Clans, you should join a Clan quickly because  Clan members can hopefully give you advice, tips, and help you to design your base. Once you’ve joined a Clan, you can use your Clan Castle to ask for troops (specially u can ask for spell donation if your Clan Castle is level 5). A Clan Castle is perhaps the best defensive structures in Clash of Clans, but only if you place it in the center of your base. The way the structure works is that when enemy units enter the Clan Castle’s range (it has a very long range), the units will pour out of the Clan Castle and attack the enemy’s attacking units. Note that your Clan Castle troops are capable of hopping over your own walls.

If you place the Clan Castle outside of your base, the enemy can simply lure your units away inside the Clan Castle and the attackers will easily kill them out of range of your towers. If you keep the Clan Castle inside your base, the enemy will have to take damage from both your Clan Castle units as well as your defensive structures in order to take out your base.

Generally, it is best to ask for Archers to keep in your Town Hall for defensive purposes. This works very well because Archers will often shoot at melee units from behind your walls, allowing them to shoot down Giants and Barbarians without taking damage. Very high level players may choose different units, such as Dragons or Golems, but this requires a clan where members will donate these troops.

Note  this tip really only applies to players at Town Hall 7 or above. because at lower Town Hall levels, you do not have enough buildings to  prevent the enemy attackers from luring out units in your Clan Castle. Town Hall 7 units can still be lured, but it is tougher. At Town Hall 8 and up the enemy will have to destroy some buildings or a decent number of units to force troops out of your Clan Castle.

Tip #9. Focus on Dark Elixir

Once you reach Town Hall 7 and beyond, your limiting resource will always be Dark Elixir. Through normal play, you typically will max out all gold and elixir-based upgrades long before you acquire enough Dark Elixir to max out your heroes and Dark Barracks troop upgrades. As a result, you need to place a priority on Dark Elixir above all other resources, saving your spells and hero units for when you stand to gain a large chunk of Dark Elixir.

Tip #10. Town Hall (TH) You Should placed inside/nearby the core 

The Town Hall should be placed inside/nearby the core and protected by defenses because you will lose resources which is equivalence to 1 Elixir Storage + 1 Gold Storage + 1/4 Dark Elixir Storage If the attacker destroy it  The Town Hall should be protected better than Gold and Elixir Storages. Also, it should be placed in a specific compartment, far from other Storages. To obtain the trophies, The enemy attackers will look to 50% of your base, not your Town Hall. You should place all non-defense buildings outside the base and far from the defenses. Most attackers will use Barch to get the trophies and you can get the shield without losing loot.You can’t get shield while your town hall is destroyed. I advice that  put your town hall inside/nearby the core to avoid  loosing trophies and loots because of the supercell new update you can’t get the shield unless 30% of the base gets taken down and the attacker.
